Our Forest Heritage Scotland newsletters use a system that allows us to log which users have opened a newsletter. Similarly, we keep a record of how people use the links contained in a newsletter. This information lets us build up a profile of how subscribers use the newsletter, which we might use to help us improve the layout and content of both the Forest Heritage Scotland website and the newsletter itself. The information will not be used for any other purpose. If you do not want your use of the newsletter to be logged in this way, you can opt to receive text-only emails, which do not contain the read-receipt device. Note though, that if, after receiving a text-only newsletter, you subsequently opt to view the newsletter in your browser, this will be logged, and that any links you click on from a plain text newsletter will also be logged.
