Could you be the proud owner of a Sunday Mail Young Scot Award?

Every day Young Scot hears about, or is in contact with, young people like yourself who are doing amazing things for the benefit of their country and communities. Now, in partnership with the Sunday Mail, we want to celebrate these achievements through some fantastic new awards.

Achievements

The Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards 2006 will honour the great things done by young people, from helping their neighbourhoods or starting their own business to outstanding achievements in sport, arts and volunteering.

These awards aren’t about fame or fortune, but about achievements by ordinary young people aged 22 and under in their own area.

The Awards ceremony will be hosted by GMTV weather girl Andrea McLean. The glamorous presenter, who is currently also starring on reality show 'Dancing On Ice', said:

"I can't wait to meet all the fantastic finalists. Adolescents and young adults are often badly stereotyped but there are so many in this country doing remarkable things and it is grea that they will now get the recognition they deserve."

The awards are also being supported by Scotland’s First Minister Jack McConnell; “Scotland is bursting with exciting, ambitious and hopeful young people. I am delighted The Sunday Mail and Young Scot have organised awards to recognise young talent”
